How Hormones Influence On Body
Posted by Edmond Rivera
Hormones are organic compounds produced by certain cells and intended for control of body functions, their regulation and coordination. There are two regulation systems in body, one is nervous system which transfer signals as impulses through nerves and nervous cells, and the second is endocrine system, where takes place chemical regulation with the help of hormones, which are transfered by blood. Endocrinology studies the role of hormones in life of a person and and physiology of endocrine glands. As medical science endocrinology appeared in 20th century but its search has been known from ancient times.
So what is hormones, hormones can be characterised as products of endocrine glands, which enter blood and have high physiological activity. The main endcrone glands are pituitary gland, thyroid, suprarenal cortex, medulla of the adrenal gland, insular fabrics of pancreas, germ glands, placenta and hormons producing parts of digestive tract. Some compounds are synthesized and have alike hormone actions. That is why in determination of which substances may be considered hormones and which may be considered endocrine glands can be problematic. However when hormones entered blood they have to get to certain organs, as to their aims. The transportation of protein hormones is not studied well, because of lack of exact knowledge about molecular mass and chemical structure many of them.
Hormones that have small molecular mass are able to joint to plasma protein, so actually the amount of united hormones in blood is higher than in free form. Exactly these free forms show their biological activity, and it was found out that they are extracted by organs. The meaning of blood fastening of hormones in blood is not very clear. It is supposed that these fastening ease the transportation of the hormone or even protects the hormone from activity loss. The physiological action of hormones is intended on regulation of biological processes, support of stability of inner sphere, harmonious cooperation between cell bloods, regulation of growth processes and reproduction.
Hormones causes activity of all cell of body. They influence on thinking processes, physical activity, height, weight, determine hair growth, voice intonation, sex attraction and behavior. According to endocrine system a person can used to strong temperatures, lack or excessive food amounts, physical and mental stresses. Study of physiological influence of endocrine glands and hormones, allowed to ravel the secrets of sex function and children birth, and also allowed answer on one question, why one people are of small height, and other of high, why one people are quickly while the other are slow, the same as why one are weak and the others are strong.
